Added North Carolina to our preferential List.
Since we in the past visit the Smokey Mountain Area a few times meanders a little further south and my Son Joachim offered us recently to spent some time in one of his summer outlets, a participation right (Time Share) to Fairfield Resort in Cashier NC. We were on our way the first time in 2003 and staggered sometimes with Motel Jefferson the visits until about to the end of 2005. Usual in the spring we went primarily to Florida and in the fall, enjoying the Colors to North Carolina. Carolinas Eastern border is the Atlantic Ocean, the same as her southern sister, South Carolina, with similar, but not the same, particular historical differences during the Civil War. The attached Map will help you to navigate the area a little better and assist in explain much more definite and accurate where and what we are doing there. All of you, as mentioned in prior Websites, should know the way to Knoxville from Waukesha. From there the Map should guide sufficiently. Hwy 40 east to Hwy 441 change to HWY 74 at around Silva, keep a direction going South until Cashiers, which is the Place of the Sapphire Valley, the location of our Destination, The Fairfield Resort. Location shift in Treasure Island, 2003/2005
Many years our plans about vacation locations did not change very much. A big portion of our available time during the springs of the years were spend, mostly in the Ebb tide Motel in Treasure Island Florida, which is documented in many of the Websites. Slowly but surely yearly certain repeaters found a liking to each other and always looked forward to the , and next, and it went on for many years, when the group became smaller and it turned out to be not quit so exciting any more as it was in the

During these three years coming down here we visited and revisited many places of interest, impossible to describe all of them; however, the most visited places we never missed I am happy to relay to you, always a possibilities one of you might be one day in this part of our great Country. The first place would be the Resort grounds, which descript in some detail above. Right across the outside of the Resorts entrance a little Christian Church, driving by any time we entered or left the Resort, invited or magnetized us to come shoe respect and enjoy. In the first year 2003, we came, prayed to our God for protection when driving home, not only for us to all travelers, and repeated our visit to this Church in all the following years, 2004/5. beginning, Nothing unusual bad saddened and it should been expected. Another point to investigate a possible relocation, choose a close by Motel, and more nearer to the actual Gulf Waters. The Traffic in Front of the Ebb Tide Motel became so heavy during the last years that it took quit a while to crossing the street, having access on the other side to the Beach. Crossing the street itself was always a dangerous operation, which we eliminated by making reservation to close by Mote, called the Jefferson Motel very close to the Ebb Tide Motel for possible continuation with the crowd, if desired. The Front located on a thru street connecting the South-North of the whole Pinellas County along the Gulf, which we used always when camping in our designated special place, called Paradise, in local language . Fort De Soto, which should know to all of you, mentioned in one of the earlier Website, # 29.
cream and Hamburger. "Peaches" City of Highland shown on the Map at the bottom below, not far from our Resort and on Picture depicted as a well-organized and beautiful City. Every time, before our departure we ordered and bought a basketful of their homegrown most delicious and desirable Peaches. The last three memorable places still be addressed, always visited on one special trip to Ice cream, and Hamburger. How can one ever forget these e events on any outing? On the way "to," we went to the "Ice cream place, Cherokee close to Bryson City, which grow during many years of visiting close to my heard. Any time when we are near it is necessary to taste the flavorful Ice cream. About 6 miles north is one of the precious Waterfall of North Carolina, Whitewater Fall, we always visit and appreciate many more present in close vicinity. The one shown is the "White Falls." On the way "back", In Silva we revisited one of our special eating places and devoured the Hamburger of our liking for many years, which I do not even try to describe I more detail. On the way back to the Resort, drove the last time, for along time, this route and prepared our return trip for the next morning. Everything went fine, no particular event, which we with the assistance of our Friend and Guardian Angel handled. Late that same day we arrived safe in Waukesha.
An Update. Last but not Least.
I am still busy with my Assignment, you most be familiar with, it is so many years back into the past since reported that my usefulness to expand beyond my regular Retirement date. I did, but completed what was expected and did it with all I had to give. My extraordinary feeling and for most are not to understand why I feel as I do, explained a few times in the past. The live with the D.O.T. always was and always will be a big important part of my live. There are voices to hear from all direction in the organization, and these voices getting louder by the day. Madison, the Headquarter planning to make dramatic changes in the overall existing bureaucratic set up. It might be severe and I am sure that my position will get a very close look about its usefulness and importance in the future. Nobody really knows for sure, but rumors like this have a good chance based on facts. I feel somewhat sad about my coworker's future if their might loose their job or get downwards reclassified. Soon we will know and I will tell. A Letter I wanted to show depicts,( computer problems, will furnish on request) my Services appreciated and still needed, but who knows what is developing in the near future.
