TIME OF HEALING                  - 27 -

HOPE!

As long, there is one upright man, as long there is one compassionate woman, the contagion may spread, and the scene neither is nor desolate. Hope is the thing that is left to us, in a bad time. Let us get up in the morning and wind the clock, as a contribution to order and steadfastness. Things can look dark, then a break shows in the clouds, and all is changed, sometimes rather suddenly. It is obvious that the human race has made a queer mess of live on this planet. However, as a people we harbor seeds of goodness, only to sprout. - E.B. White.

Waukesha WI, September 1972, Hospital stays.

While you read the conclusion of Website Time of Adversity # 26, one noticed that the calamities during the last six month coped with the best we could. Nonetheless as mentioned before, my Doctor ordered on the same afternoon my admission to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital, one of the best in South East Wisconsin. It took a long time to get accustomed to the routine in the hospital, inasmuch the personal there was not in a hurry to let me go home, where I planned to get dressed and go. After a few days another Doctor substituted for mine, explained the instructions he left behind. To put me on Diet to lose many pounds, quit smoking and try to reduce my temper to an expectable level. If that was not enough to swallow, he ordered not to relieve me until he returns from his vacation in about four weeks. I never have and I prayed to my Friend to let it pass fast and give me the strength to accommodate was ordered. I really knew that all this done with passion to help a reconstruction of my former self. The situation was so strange to me, most likely the helplessly of my situation, because prior to this I speared our activities and now to follow. It is hard to change from a leader to a follower, but eventual even in this I found some gratification. My family visited me most the time daily, my good friends from the office came over very often. The distance between the Office and the Hospital is no more than ten minutes walking... However, four weeks is a long time. Other than, the elements noted above no additional

medical procedures contemplated. The heart damaged and will heel in time. No other medical attention needed or planned, that what they explained to me. Finally, my Doctor arrived and relieved my present but unwilling b confinement. Never will I forget the day when my family brought me back to a place where I felt more comfortable. On that day, the woman of the house gave a special welcome home by baking one of my favorite cakes the old German type plum cake. It could not be a better or more welcome from my family.

A related issue happened a few weeks later, which might of interest to many of you who want to quit smoking. The urge of smoking never disappeared and nobody came up with an acceptable solution to handle the problem. Soon later, I went to drugstore and looked around if there was anything that might be of help to master this urge. I was ready nearly to do the most uncommon procedures to have a success or close to it. Suddenly my eyes focused on apple flavored chewing tobacco. Never before used only heard about it to be free from this terrible agony. What happen I cannot and will not describe in detail, but it entailed vomiting to point of feeling totally depleted. Never since, I had the urge, and never smoked again. I hope that many listen, let me know to congratulating you.

Changes and Solution! One approach: "How To" Waukesha, 1972/73

The Answer to the question above seems cemented in my brain, and does not budge. There is no doubt about the only possible, but most involvement with changes on the horizon to deal with. The changes are so numerous that one has to approach the problem, the old fashion way, one at a time. Do not ever think, because I used the word old, I am not, If anything, I could be mature. The changes are known and the new situation adding more. The best approach to sort out, systematically isolate each one, and have a few solutions to each. The second or third sorting might give the best or close to the best answer. To make this approach to solve a problem, in one or other way a few time, served me well. One of the big benefits rises out of a possible confusion into an orderly process with little problems and one preferential solution. I added an Image to this section, which might add, if one needs additional assistance to himself out of a similar arrangement like mine shortly. Shortly after leaving the Hospital, Invited from a Manager of the D.O.T. Office in Waukesha, to visit and discuss my immediate future. A few superiors of mine were present and seem astonished how well I looked and acted. They told the Department Guidelines an employee with a Heart problem and duration of time in a Hospital, shall be relieved from any Department for work, Office or work, for at least two month, with normal compensation. Very surprised I was, of the extra ordinary consideration given to Department Employees. I expressed my appreciation and went home with thoughts, what can I do with all these additional time. Some time I spent, with permission of Management, with my Coworkers and friends and at home spend more time of helping the family with their day to day shores. Another issue explained gave me a little more to think about me close future with a certain amount of surprise. After my two month resting and rehabilitate for a whole one year residing in the office without any field assignment, at all. This supposed to give the afflicted ones another safety to assure that all is well. I understood and thought it was graceful, however not fitting my personal need and anticipation at t. Since only working in winters in the Office and summers in the Fields, you fulfilled your

duties according to the guidelines. Any shortcoming of that treated as a failure caused by your own motivation corrected (punitive) by staying all summer in the Office. That`s why I not whole hearty encompassed this staying in the Office for one year. A bad comparison, because knew that nobody wanted to do harm to me of any kind. So I looked forward to do what expected and will give as much as I am able to give. I loved, and still do, the people of Wisconsin. Prior to all this I gave a little mentoring with newer employees and asked to step to the window and tell what you see. When I got the answer the surprise they got, when they reported anything else than what I wanted to hear. No one saw any People. In addition, than I impressed on their mind forever, these people are your real Bosses not the people across the hall, and Trust you without even knowing you. Do you deserve Their Trust?

May God bless all of us
Sincerely,

This text will continue on the following Page # 28 and called Adjusting. I cannot tell you what to do; however advising you is my privilege the hope that you learned in the above text a little how a problem could approached and solved. It worked for me quite well. Never forget the purpose of our common Journey is to get to know, that nearly everything, everywhere has a positive solution, if you search for it.
