Gone Forever,
Came to visit we talked a while, said good bye
It happened fast and unaccepted He only knew
I was astonished only to mumble, Why?
It is written in the book of live for all; the Day,
The Master above will welcome you
That as it should be and in no other way.
My mother the one that gave birth to me,
I must have been a day of ecstasy
Being so happy that I once was the Key.
Words will not heal, hugs will not help
Tears will not bring her back any more,
But I know, the place where she went is Real!

INSPIRATION:
"A MAN OF PERSONALTY CAN FORMULATE IDEALS, BUT ONLY A MAN OF CHARACTER CAN ACHIEVE THEM."
Waukesha, WI. & Sayn, Germany - 1970/1972
After observing and reading the above my father informed us that my mother left us to better place, where we eventual meet again. That were many things unique with my mother, some I remember and will never forget. My mother was plagued by severe asthma all her adult live. We children remember our mothers two wishes what she would like to happen after her permanent departure. Asked us to have some holes drilled in her coffin for air (asthma). Second to plant, a few fruit trees for that we come to visit her at least at harvesting time. A few things like that softened the pain of her sudden departure and knowing her present location is far better than what she had prior to her big trip towards eternity.
During the next two months, after my return earlier in 1970, discussed the option to move back to Germany or stay in Waukesha. It came to a point where these uncertainness start effecting my plan to create a save, interesting and productive future. It took longer than anticipated to agree on solution. The two oldest children
There is another "Growing Years" coming, Part III. The years 1969 to 1973 were rich on Happenings in many ways. Do not miss the conclusion of this time to read. It is not a Saga but the Facts. Until later… May the blessing of your God be with you.

were against my plan to relocate, the rest of the Family torn to make a decision and finally said: We like tostay, but go over there again soon make a decision and let us know .These few months had to conclude, emotionally and financially a hurting noticeable. As soon as the necessary booking with the Airlines completed, my parents informed, returned to Germany, hopefully to settle the issue at hand. My Father promoted a coming back and explained all the Places he consulted even the successor of him to have opening for a job. I declined with an understanding that this would be nearly impossible for me to bear, after what happened some years ago. Subjects of concern like transportation housing not discussed any more, they lost their importance. I decided with the rest of my family to maintain and start to continue the goal of my live, create a Home. Informed by phone informing the family this responded very happy and reminded me to come home soon. After I said Auf Wiedersehen (See you again) booked my flight back on the usually route, and joined my happy family in Waukesha, WI Eight hours later. My disposition improved fast and with all I was capable to give, the future looked inviting again
The repeating recent visits to Germany in the last few months must have started an interest in some of my relatives, which hardly ever prior existed, to visit us. The first family was my sister Louise with her Husband Gordy. Both are Professionals' and occupied as teachers. They arrived around Easter1972, the memory is so vital because Gordy showed us a little trick to encourage faster blooming new twigs of willow trees. The children and the visitors got along very good and accommodated each in most everything. We showed them Milwaukee, the Waterfront with the beautiful Parks and Flower arrangements. The Theaters and nearly everything what was worthwhile to see. On other days, we made trips into the country site to open a view they never seen or even could imagine, according to their remarks. A special Trip we arranged to drive with them to Le Cross WI and had a boat ride on the Mississippi in an old-fashioned Sternwheeler up and down the River. Le Cross is about eighty miles from our house. Most the time I was ordained to be the driver, particular the bigger trips on weekends. Many days and hours we spent together entertaining and playing with our children who connected well with my sister and her husband. It turned out to be a nice time and certain family bonds reinforced. After the time came after four weeks to say, "See you again." It was our pleasure to accompany them to the Chicago Airport wished both a safe trip and reminded to stay in touch.
Not long after my sister left we became some inquiries' from my father when and if it would be possible to visit us. My sister must really encourage him to go and see for himself that he stated doubt to her. I knew him very well and some of his sermons are impossible to forget. It was clear to all of us that Opa (Grandfather) will be welcomed and accordingly invited him to come and looking forward to his arrival. He never would have come if my mother were alive. She was very afraid to get involved of such undertaking. My sister Louise made all the necessary arrangement and it did not take very long to welcomed him in Chicago, O`Hara Airport. Until then he never seen our children but it did not take long the ice melted. On the way to Waukesha, he commented on the equableness of most Highway bridges, in Germany created by individual design and selected in a drawing. My father spends all his life in design, construction as a successful entrepreneur and businessperson. He enjoyed the ride to Waukesha observing the view and
seemed overall in a happy mood, As soon as we arrived it started getting dark and he a little tired asked to get to bed which was understandable. The next days we showed him everything in and around Waukesha. He had noted down in a little book when my sister reported most of their experiences in Sayn. The ride to La Cross and watching the traffic on the Mississippi was a special treat for him, even if fog and rain subdued the sights, it was a pleasure to see him a much more pleasant person as I had memories. The longer trips did not bother him, but back in Waukesha, he continues his habit of resting around at noontime. Another nice place to visit happens to be only one half hour from Waukesha called Holy Hill. A very old shrine, according to local sentiment many people heeled there. Today it is a Cathedral and founded by German Monks a long time ago, which are still residing in a Monastery. There is an Amusement city center, Wisconsin Dell very extensive where I bought some years ago a place in a Campground. Give my children an opportunity to use this some later for their own enjoyment My Father thought could not understand all the action of the American parents. The dells Area are well known and for their natural setting, which includes Rivers and Rocks. We had supper in an appealing restaurant starting our drive back to Waukesha. Talked a while together and exchanged some thought with Opa only to go to bed early. A good night helped us to fast to get into amours arm.
Progress on construction during 1970/1972.
The winter seasons like usual were spending in the District Office in Waukesha, finishing most needed paperwork for past and present projects. The reconstruction on US 32 (now I 43) between Mequon and the North Milwaukee Co line was completed, approved and opened to traffic. During later stages of this project, another project added to my caretaking, located in Jefferson County on ST. 16, between Waukesha and Oconomowoc in Jefferson Co. The project at this time is close to start placing the final Road surfacing, consisting of nine-inch Reinforced Portland Cement Pavement. It is obvious by new that I was very busy but happy to rise to the occasion to live up to my own acceptation. The next Project to opened, located in Walworth Co, on ST. 15 (now I 43), a total Reconstruction Earthwork, Structures and the construction of two complete Wayside with all facilities. The construction site location approximate thirty miles from Waukesha, Elkhorm to Mukwonago placed in a beautiful landscape, very hard to describe. The local people of the area will pay a lot of attention what will happen to one of their jewels. I will do my best to satisfy their concern. One of the most precious natural entities in this placed called Hodunk Road Valley will need a lot attention if it ever should rain much above the normal precipitation. I can feel it already this project can need an will get much more attention and guidance than any other assignment before.
