Waukesha from 1982 to 1986

With the graduation of Tina our youngest girl, life if we know changed from a beehive to a somber affair. Most of Tina`s Graduation is covered in the prior Website "Trying to Adjust", Notice the attached Image of the University building in Milwaukee. Lottie, the one in the middle, married in 1980 a school friend from Waukesha It was a nice celebration a, gathering of friends and relative s congregated to wish the two happy ones the best for the rest of their earthly and future existing. In the last Website # 36 you read the close to miraculous happening of a mind change in regard to Tina`s future at hand. Once more, as if so many times on our Journey, did I mention the purpose of this undertaking? This was and always will be, not feeling sorry for my mistakes, but to learn from my mistakes and if possible adapt some of the coping methods mentioned. Suddenly, unexpected the Almighty interrupted my easy going Journey sending a message to slow down. I had to enter a special Cardiology Hospital in Milwaukee to have a Bypass Surgery. It took ten years after my Heart attack to address my real problem. It happen shortly prior to Tina's High school graduation in the year 1982. The total recovery went fast and after a month everything continued normal. I knew it was only a hint from my Master and Lord, thanked Him accordingly, and live went on with reinforced vigor. Angelika our first daughter and Achim our only son, decided to wait a

Wisconsin Always the responsibilities "came first and "than" the rest. Bluemound Road is one of the major thru roads in Waukesha and saturated with shopping facilities. Future designs Traffic counts indicate that a reconstruction with additional lanes in each direction should be necessary. The existing Road is a dual highway, separated by grassed Median. The Designs on this four-mile Highway sublet to a local Civil Design Engineering Company very much honored by acting as the intermediary. The chance of my lifetime arrived and my feelings are great The possible actual construction planned at the beginning of the 90`.This assignment and all the other routine jobs will keep me fully occupied for at for a few years ahead.

while until at the time to start their attempt building and searching for a fundamental future, on their own. Achim stood very close to the homestead, utilizing mothers helping hand and guidance Angelika in principal did the same, but much further away in distance and from some of her best Friends. One thing increased during these particular times, was the usage of the telephone, which easy to understand. Very close to Tina`s graduation her aunt and son visited us She was the sister of Tina`s mother, which waited a long time for her coming. Their whole family is very close nit and always accommodating each other if there is a need. As always visitors received the best treatment, we are capable to give. Like with so many different visitors, family or friends got the best of what we had or could do for them. With Annemie and her son Egon we showed them the almighty Mississippi on day on other days it was enjoyable to see their excitement when we visited the Dells, their natural beauty, and the ever present facilities of Dell`s Amusement Parks. Many times, we went to the Milwaukee Lake I Front, walked along the wonderful rose and flower gardens, and found serenity galore. While Annemie was there, I was aerating a big portion of our lawn, which had to racked, removing the loss grass material. Annemie offered to help; it was not necessary but accepted She encouraged her son to participate, without any result. It was funny and very amusing to hear the long forgotten expressions The visitors time with us went fast and the Auf Wiederseh`n came to early, but we had to part. Driving to O'Hare Airport in Chicago and returning home to Waukesha went routinely, but there was enough time to thank our God for all the blessing He provided once more. Many of the participants in the journey might think, with all the Family happenings going on, when he ever found time to fulfill his responsibility towards his employer, the people of
Lesotho, South Africa, 1986 to mid 1988`s.

The attached Map of Lesotho gives you a little more feeling and understanding about the place Tina went to do her thing for humankind. She started very early in her live to make a difference s and joint shortly after her graduation in 1986, mastered in Biology, the Peace Corps. She did all this alone without any outside encouragement. First, I was surprised and somewhat hurt, but my second thought turned into an unbelievable pride to have such a daughter. Maybe the Genes in us played a bigger part as one ever will know. The Country Lesotho, located inside the bigger Federation of South Africa, it is a very small Kingdom and ruled by a very old Dynasty. Under the guidance of the U S Peace and the request of the Lesotho Government a complement of qualified volunteers, including Tina arrived in the fall of 1986 to serve their country and Humankind. What an honorable thing to do and still so young! Lesotho`s formidable terrain is created by the sheer walls of the Drakensberg and Maloti mountains, which give sanctuary to a unique developing nation. The friendly Basotho are one of the few mountain peoples in Africa and have developed a rich culture, often in isolated villages. The entire country of Lesotho lies 3,300 feet above sea level and boast Thabana-Ntlenyana, at10,500, the highest peak in Africa south of South Kilimanjaro. Winter in Lesotho is from June to August, September to April is spring and summer with beautiful warm sunny days and occasional rain. Lesotho boasts 299 sunny days per year. Maseru is the Main Center for anything and everything you need to buy Exchange post or dial it. The telephone system working works well in Maseru, but don`t count on it outside of the city centre. Postal services are fast and reliable, sometimes better than in South Africa. There are
The Journey is moving ahead, invigorated, and reinforced that much positives accompanying our trip. Will meet you soon at the next Website Page,

no trains in or out of Lesotho, so your best bet would be by bus or private vehicle. Before setting out, seek advice from the locals or police station about untarred or gravel road condition. Outdoor there are good trails in Maseru, along with many craft markets, but without the biggest attraction in Lesotho is hiking. However, make sure, before you set out that you use either a guide or compass and maps, obtainable at the Department of Land Surveys in Maseru.
Some of the above text I copied from a tourist brochure to tell you something what and where is Lesotho. I heard quit a bit from Tina her Mother and from my son about her mission and about Lesotho. However, for all of you the best is not always the best, so I ask Achim to send me an Email in his own word the experiences he had when he visited with his mother on Christmas of 1986 Tina in Lesotho. Word by Word is his report how and what he saw and felt. So the possibility of "Hearsay "is eliminated, because I am very proud of my children and the way they are building their Future.
The following is exactly the messages I received by Email on Sat, 24, May 2008:

My experience visiting the country Lesotho in South Africa was a lifetime opportunity. I will always remember and reflect on, and gained valuable on what and how a third world country exist. Mom and I saw first hand how difficult of a life these families have. The men work so hard for s little in the gold mines and come home usually once a month to provide for there family and then heed off back to work. The housing is simple of huts and no running water, heat or air-conditioning. The children only can go to school when the family has money to pay for it. The children are so somber to the conditions and seem to be happy. My mother and I gained life long lessons how appreciate and be grateful of all we have and. what the people of this country don`t have. I will always be grateful of the life I have had and will have. The small things like a toilet, shower  and especially food and a roof over my head is such a luxury compared to the way of life that they have , they don`t know or seen much different. The trip to Lesotho/South Africa enlightened me for the rest of my life, it was a trip I will never forget, and it has left me with an impression of how good I have it and to appreciate the qualit of life I live. The words of my son Joachim, short called Achim!

Some parting words from -Booker T. Washington:
