Foreword: An explanation is needed about the somewhat mysteries title. I assure you, a planned departure of mine is not in the cards or imminent. The name farewell has no connection to any human being, in particular to me; however, to the ending of a time span of hundred years, mostly called, Century. This word by itself feels cold and not to personal. To me, Time always was and is the best assets given to me, by me eternal Friend. This could sound childish, if it does, no problem, the connection with time is always warm and grateful, and had a particular warmness in my whole being; therefore, I called it Father Time. He did his job very well up to 1999, and I am planning, so God will, to welcome him warmly in the year 2000, on the Website pg. # 47.

Another welcome, as expected in Pg. #45 of my childhood Friend Bruno and his Wife Else in the near future. Like with many and possible future Visitors coming from Germany, we welcomed both at Chicago, O`Hare, drove them safe to our home in Waukesha. On the way home, most all of the newest and most interested happenings in the German families discussed and appreciated. Other than celebration the new century approaching, many more events expired in 1999, the next one not planned by any means; however impossible to avoid. Seventeen years ago, hospitalized in one of Milwaukee's best Cardiac treatment facilities to undergo a heart Bypass Surgery. With minor changes in my eating habits, quit smoking and adjusting to a different lifestyle made me hope this will never happen again. The only medication prescript, one Aspirin a day, never differentiated thru all these years until in the spring, April, the same signs occurred, as seventeen years ago. Nobody could tell me what happened to my body, the signs and pain were familiar and will never forget. Since 1982, the City of Waukesha modified many times their Hospital and added a first class Card iatric system, with the latest and newest equipment and most able Doctors available. Comparing the operation style and time in comparison with the one in Milwaukee, could addressed close to be a miracle. It would be of no Vail to go any further with medical explanations, but one thing is for sure and worthwhile mentioning, the medical improvement over the last twenty years unbelievable, but welcomed. image of a Bypass Graft gives one a better opportunity to see what is actual the cause, the reason, the procedure of repairing and preventing in the future. In Waukesha, it took three days only before I returned home, and no more than two weeks before went back to work vs. in Milwaukee at the time four or even more longer as in Waukesha. My Friends at the Office welcomed when I returned and it did not long after, I started to continue with the planning for the rest the year, which heard, but my Friend above gave me plenty of time to make up with an improved body. since we past thru there before, and still fascinated by the beauty and ambience of the area. One morning, in midsummer of 1999 we started out , after all important locations and lodging were completed and started moving to our destination Lexington, Virginia, close to Lynchburg, and the crossing of Hyw 81 with Hyw 60. To get there was not difficult, a few times in recent past we came very close to this area.on the area between the Cities of Richmond and Lexington, that`s where we planning to revisit, since we past thru there before, and still fascinated by the beauty and ambience of the area. After we started early from Waukesha to Chicago ,Indianapolis crossing over Cincinnati, Lexington continued easterly until we arrived close to evening at our reserved outside of the City. The family consisted of an elderly retired couple and took good care of our well-being. Our lodging included breakfast where learned the first time how to prepare local Pancakes with maple Syrup. A delight, which we continued to enjoy mostly every Sunday morning. We drove to several locations recommended by locals and saw very nice sites to sit down and ponder over everything what came along. A Public Park particular beautiful, with a breathtaking sight all around developed to become one our favorite .There it was hard to leave, but like always sometimes it has to end The City of Lexington , shown on this part of the text in an image very close to reality. Observing the picture one can see a church a little down the Street, where we listened to a little girl presenting some heartwarming songs my tears came very close to hinder my vision. It was a time of resting, a time of remembering, a time of thanking and a time of making commitments in your heart to yourself and to your God. How often comes such occasion our ways, with all this most unnecessary puzzles and bustles, not many, believe me. Therefore, these happenings were not scheduled but given to us as a present from the Almighty, a sign of His love. One the way back we made a little detour to visit, explore and spent some time in the Smokey Mountain area which we passed many times. One of the biggest draw to this area is the Cheereko Indian village and City, run by the original Tribe`s ancestors. After overnight, we started in the morning into homeward bound. We went northerly over the very high Smokey Mountain, down to the well-known City of Gatlinburg, where we stopped and did some extra souvenir shopping, continued over Knoxville, going north-west to Louisville. Chicago, and arrived late in the afternoon in Waukesha, at home. I thanked my steady companion whenever I drive a car. My Guardian Angel, which prevented any Involvement in any Accident since I drive a car, with a "Well Done", touched lightly my left shoulder to his imaginary resting place.

Mississippi in La Cross, one of there dreams for a long Time. Many times during the past most of all these interested sailing on the Mississippi, my father the first on, my retour on this event you can revisit On Website pg. # 24, including another Image of Boats on the River. We toured the waters up and down the river, ending according to Bruno and Else, having the time of their live, memories they never will forget. One the way back, we passed close to the famous Dells, mentioned and described in Page # 28/29.in close details. We promised our visitor to visit there with them and we will. It would be redundant to repeat many times the same impressions. Being at home, revisited the day, and kept on planning for the rest of their visit. The Attachment shown is a copy of the original river Boats use in the far back past. The rest of the vacation a close visiting of Milwaukee, in particular the most beautiful arrangement of the Michigan Lake, The museum etc and smaller trips in and around Waukesha. It was a good time and a happy time. At the"Aufwiedersehen" in Chicago`s Airport, we promised, to come soon to visit and go together to Austria.
