The Beginning:
This page the beginning of my recount brought us back to the area where I started many, many years approximate fifty-eight years ago, in the year 1952. Actual the goal as plant for the first time around ,but which did not complete as planned, “returned” to the actual place, where it all started , Bremerhaven, at the North Sea, connected to the north Atlantic, very soon after, about a year later.
The “first” departure from Bremerhaven started at very bad weather condition, early in the morning on the German Vessel called S.S M Berlin. The weather condition did not improve to a better and all of us on the ship were happy when we finally arrived at Halifax, Canada, about 12 days sailing from there, a train brought us, along the St. Lawrence River to the Metropolitan Toronto, where I had a lot of trouble to find temporary housing at charitable Organization. and things start looking up, which welcomed to all of us.

On top of having all the privileges to meet your former and new friends and started looking for available and suiting girls, to marry. I am getting in the age range to marry. Somehow, somewhere without special research or sniffing around did I met a girl of seventeen years old, which interested me very much, and named Rosa. The family of hers known to me because of many years contacts and Rosa seems to have interesting, after many weeks or some months getting to know each other to show interest of marrying maybe soon. In Bornhofen, a known Catholic Church, close to our homes we married in the presence of many of her, mine, relatives, and returned to our new home in my parents house. It was the year 1955, one of my most precious days. For your interest, we are “still” married as of today (1/8/10) everything changed how to handle all things together. A very important decision we made together soon after our marriage, that Rosa will accompany me at the right time back to Canada, to continue what I started finish it together.
Return to Germany:
The letters I received from my father asked me to consider to return to the land I left and join his Business as long there is time to do so. I start to like the place and the work I was assigned too, not thinking to return so early, but I had to follow his request, and I did. When I arrived at my parent’s home and Business my father informed me, he sold all of his Company to a very solid and known Company with a promise to find a place for me.

Back to Canada - Towards America!
The appropriate time passed and we were blessed with a healthy Girl, in 1956, baptized, called Angelika. Soon after, we decided and agreed to return to Canada, as soon as possible. We arrived in Toronto; employed at the same Company I worked before, send to shortly after to Elliot-Lake, the Uranium Capital of the World at that time. It was a good time would it be not such very strongly controlled and regulated by the government which did not favored former German. My future, because of my German heritage, could hinder my anticipated plans. Talked it over with Rosa and decided together, after the birth of our coming Baby, to immigrate to U.S.A. We had not any trouble to obtain the necessary Papers from the American Government to immigrate to Wisconsin, U.S.A, where I already landed a good job with the Wisconsin Department of Highways. The Baby was born in April 1958 and baptized. We left early Morning, 10 days old Baby Lottie and Angelika towards Waukesha. Wisconsin.” Arrived at the land of all Possibilities” healthy and eager. Still living there, all alive with some more additions.

I started out with a goal: BE PERSISTENT, but did not live up to this commitment, which made me feel very bad. Had genuine feeling both ways but were very happy, when we decided to return to Canada. Continue what I started besides all, the founding of a Family was more than what I anticipated. There is no doubt in my mind who and where is the Force and the Power behind, Him.
Thanks to Him, who is for sure the Force who guided our undertaking and molded an even more serious connection, with which I will and cannot be without, ever.

When I arrived in Toronto with an German engineering Certificate, I was lucky and connected with an English engineering Company, who hired me at lower position, in their Company and transferred me to a northerly Lake, called Lake Simcoe where we most the time cutting ice, using to keep the milk sterile. The Canadian winter is very cold but we endured and looked forward transferred to Elliot Lake in Northern Ontario, possible in some years, where the Company was very busy to be the engineering Company of the Mining Organization. Soon spring brought better weather condition and things start looking up, which welcomed to all of us.
The new owners Offices and work sheds were at my Father’s one, Bendorf –Sayn. Thinking about their offer, which a pretty one as such, but declined not willing to accept and made plans, already how and when I returned to Canada, hopefully to Elliot Lake not knowing at an earlier time, all the happenings’ ahead of me, many things nearly incomprehensible I found out, try to keep busy since that time. Time rushing by very fast and things happened at a fast speed, never anticipated. The time already spend in Canada prepared me for nearly everything and I was glad about it. Little by little, did I reunite myself with some of my former friend, felt well after some weeks, being surprised quite a bit?
